Hi! I'm Jen.
Instructional Designer & Life Long Learner
My journey to instructional design includes an education degree and substitute teaching, several years in the advertising department of a local newspaper, before turning back towards education and moving into higher education admissions.
In each position, even those outside of teaching, I found myself training, sometimes formally and sometimes informally, and many times creating instructional guides or documentation.
One night, my friends and I were discussing the idea of five and ten year plans. When I went home that night, I reflected on my past jobs and what an actual career plan could look like. I realized that while I left classroom teaching, I never really stopped acting as an educator or lost my love of finding ways to explain new concepts and skills to others. This realization led me to the field of Instructional Design.
On this website you can find my Instructional Design Philosophy, professional resume, and Instructional Design Portfolio.
You can also find my blog, where I will be posting about instructional design and educational topics and more information and updates about ID projects I am working on. Many of the ID projects will be about topics I find interesting and learning more about, allowing me to both share what I'm learning and continue to grow my ID skills.
